Lush Curve was a dream born from a dream! Boutique owner Hannah started BRIDE by Aster in 2018 and once this dream had become an established and well known Surrey destination for fun and frivolous bridal appointments, she wanted to make sure that her curvy brides were catered for in the same way she likes to look after everyone! In 2019 she began to expand her collection to become more size inclusive and by 2020, the LUSH CURVE dream was born! With a few bumps in the road, C-19 being a big one, it was decided that we would wait until 2021 to officially launch a brand new, all singing all dancing, varied, modern and beautiful collection of 25 exquisite plus size wedding dresses within the Dorking boutique before launching our very own PLUS SIZE BRIDAL SHOP IN SURREY……and so our story begins……..
Hi, I’m Hannah! I absolutely love what I do and love seeing brides fall in love with themselves over and over again when they find ‘the dress’! But prior to 2018, I had never worked in the bridalwear industry at all. I had a lot of experience with weddings and events as I started my career in the events industry in 2010 after finishing university. I worked my way up from a wedding co-ordinator at a beautiful venue in Surrey to head of events, group sales manager and then finally moved into London to work on private events and catering around Mayfair, Fulham and Knightsbridge. Needless to say, it really didn’t work for me and I decided to find a way out of the big smoke and into a little piece of heaven…..and here we are!
When I’m not in the boutique I’m chilling at home in West Sussex. I live on a farm since moving from South London in 2020 so I’m surrounded by green fields, friendly cows and lots of wildlife. I wouldn’t change it for the world and I love every minute I get to spend in this beautiful part of England! I am myself married to a gorgeous South African fella, who is also my business partner and is the ‘weight’ to my ‘kite’ (he keeps me from flying off in all directions!) I have 2 amazing step-children who are now teenagers (which is in itself terrifying)! We love to travel the world, experience new cultures through food, music and architecture and ultimately are just a normal little family, trying to live their best life!
Five Fun Facts About Hannah…
1) My husband and I spent a whole month on honeymoon in Peru, bussing across from Lima to Cusco. It. Was. Epic.
2) I got married to my bestie on a beach in South Africa in 2014 and we had a perfect micro-wedding at an inland game reserve. We ate, drank, danced and sang into the African night with 12 of our nearest and dearest.
3) I am half Moroccan and although I can barely speak a word of Arabic, I love Moroccan food! We would spend long summers in Rabat, the capital, with my 10 million cousins haha! My aunties make THE BEST food ever!
4) I learnt Spanish many years ago to prepare for my South American adventures. I’m a little rusty now but I can still hold a conversation! I love languages and in 2020 started to learn isiZulu, which is a bantu language of South Africa and one of the countries 11 official languages!
5) My favourite movie of all time is Sister Act, starring the legendary Whoopie Goldberg. I must have watched it over 100 times in my life and my brother took me to see her debuting it at the theatre in London. She was the narrator for the first 2 weeks when it very first opened!

Our right hand woman at Lush Curve is Tania, and you’ll mostly be being looked after by her at your appointments. Tania is a long establish makeup artist who joined the team in 2019. Tania’s all time favourite appointments are our curvy brides and she has a real eye for choosing the right fit for the right bride! Tania is vivacious, playful and a little bit naughty! She also has lots of industry contacts through her many years in bridal makeup and is a great person to have around for recommendations of venues and suppliers if you need a hand!
Tania was married at Wotton House in Surrey, nearly 10 years ago to her husband Andrew, an ex-fireman and all round handyman. They live close to Dorking and enjoy a life with their four Hungarian vizsla dogs in a beautiful home that they built from scratch. Tania’s pasttimes are long walks, cooking and gin!
Five Fun Facts About Tania
1) I used to have an Indian Tiger Python called Harry.
2) I have an addiction to Christmas decorations and turn my house into a sort of grotto in December. My husband panics whenever I go to a garden centre or The Range around the festive season!
3) I will always without fail choose cheese over chocolate. The only cheese I won’t eat is goats. It just somehow tastes like a goat!
4) I used to own a Kiss-a-gram agency in the 80’s!
5) I’m a total sci-fi geek and love Doctor Who!
why did you create your boutique in the style of an enchanted woodland?
We have worked in the bridal industry since 2018 and it’s really been eye opening how our plus size brides just haven’t had the same choice as everyone else. Even boutiques that advertise plus size wedding dresses, often only have 1 or 2 dresses in the smaller range of plus size. Bridal boutiques that have a great selection of size and style inclusive dresses are few and far between, so we wanted to create a boutique that far exceeded any expectations for any bridal shop, plus or otherwise. The idea behind the desgin of our LUSH boutique, actually came from the front door. It felt like stepping into a house in the middle of a fairytale, so we took the idea and ran with it! The effect is a magical, warm, inviting and totally unique boutique, exclusively for our plus size brides filled with curvy wedding dresses.
